Ministry Objectives
This ministry is set up not only to minister the Gospel to the C.O.I.M. covenant who are incarcerated but also to assist them in transitioning back into society. In addition to ministering the word of God to them, we also assist them with job placement, housing, and food and clothing after they have been released from prison or extended stays in jail.
The “He Whom the Son Sets Free” ministry focuses on ministering to and meeting the specific needs of men and women who have been or are currently incarcerated as well as their immediate family members. This ministry offers prayer, counseling, strong moral support and financial aid where resources permit for both the inmates and their spouses and family members.
This ministry provides:
Ø Job placement assistance.
Ø Assistance with finding affordable housing.
Ø Jail and prison visitations and transportation assistance.
Ø Free stationary, pens and stamps for family members of incarcerated partners.
Ø Work skills training and development.
Ø Budgeting and financial training.
Ø Ongoing counseling and more.
All participants in this ministry are required to visit the covenant partners who are incarcerated locally at least once per month and maintain close contact with their families to provide and receive frequent updates and progress reports. This ministry is also responsible for making sure that any letters to the courts on behalf of any covenant partners who are incarcerated or facing incarnation are written and submitted to Pastor Sims for approval.
The ministry leader:
Ø Must be saved.
Ø Must pass a background check.
Ø Must complete 4-weeks of internal leadership training & complete prison required training as well.
Ø Must be certified as a counselor or at least one year of counseling experience.
Ø Must be familiar with all state regulations concerning ministering within the prisons.
Ø Must establish and conduct regular meetings with former detainees.
Ø Must be a covenant partner with C. O. I. M.
Ø Must be a faithful tither and supporter of the ministry and its beliefs.
Ø Must be subject to the pastor of C. O. I. M.
Ø Must be an example to others in word, life, and deed.
Ø Must be apt to teach and develop others to minister to those who are (or have been) incarcerated.
All participants in this ministry will report directly to Pastor or Prophetess Sims on a monthly basis.
The transportation ministry will work closely with this ministry to ensure visitations are made and assist with pick-ups and drop offs of family members.
Destined for Greatness Nursery and Young Children’s Ministry
Ministry Objectives
This ministry provides childcare for both service times and those parents who are working and can’t afford the normal rate for childcare when staffing is available. It also assists parents in ensuring their children have everything that they need to maintain optimum health physically, mentally and spiritually.
This ministry provides:
Ø Childcare for children ages 8 and under during all services and special events.
Ø Daytime childcare for working parents (After credentials are acquired by C. O. I. M.)
Ø Early childhood development lessons.
Ø Sing-a-long songs and group activities.
Ø Snacks and beverages during childcare sessions.
Ø Biblical teachings for toddlers and young children.
Ø Corroboration with parents for planning children’s future.
The Destined for Greatness ministry requires leadership that is focused on ministering to and meeting the specific needs of children under the age of 8-years old. Unless previously excused by the ministry leader, each participant in this ministry is expected to attend and serve during any major event or special occasion such as weddings, conferences, funerals, retreats, concerts etc.
The ministry leader:
Ø Must be saved.
Ø Must pass a background
Ø Must complete 8-weeks of internal leadership training and complete all state and county required training.
Ø Must be certified in early education and daycare procedures.
Ø Must be familiar with all state regulations concerning childcare procedures.
Ø Must be a covenant partner with C. O. I. M.
Ø Must be a faithful tither and supporter of the ministry and its beliefs.
Ø Must be subject to the pastor of C. O. I. M.
Ø Must be an example to others in word, life, and deed.
Ø Must be apt to teach children and develop others to minister to children.
Ø Must know CPR and complete a First Aide training class
Ø Must be in good physical condition to ensure he/she will be able to keep up with the kids.
Ø Must have personal transportation and be able and willing to pick up and drop off children.
Each ministry participate must be comfortable with and well trained in feeding, changing, cleaning, and transporting the children prior to, during, and after services.
