Transportation Ministry
Ministry Objectives
The objective of this ministry is to safely transport individuals and families to all church and outreach functions as well as certain personal destinations.
This ministry provides:

Free transportation to and from all ministry services and events in a timely manner.

Free rides to job interviews for job placement assistance recipients.

Free rides to voting polls.
-
Free rides to doctor's and dental appointments as needed.
-
Free rides to grocery stores and local bill payment centers as needed.

Free rides to jail/prison visitations on existing visitation schedules.
The Transportation ministry actually assists in the success of the majority of the other ministries in the church. All individuals participating in this
ministry must be willing to pick up and drop off anyone visiting or in covenant with C. O. I. M. prior to and immediately after all services or special
events.
All ministry participants will need to make sure that the church van or vehicle is properly fueled and well maintained at all times. All gas and vehicle
maintenance reimbursements will only be given if a receipt is provided.
Every participant in this ministry must have a contact list for every individual who gets picked up and dropped off. An updated copy of this list must
be provided to Pastor Sims on a weekly basis to ensure that no one gets left behind for any reason.
The ministry leader:

Must be saved.

Must have a clean driving record (no major violations, i.e. - D. U. I.’s, felony convictions, etc.)

Must have at least a Class C CDL License (for insurance purposes)

Must be able to keep accurate mileage and gas records for tax purposes.

Must ensure that all maintenance and repairs are performed on all vehicles.

Must be a covenant partner with C. O. I. M.
-
Must be a faithful tither and supporter of the ministry and its beliefs.

Must be subject to the pastor of C. O. I. M.
-
Must be an example to others in word, life, and deed.

Must be willing and physically able to assist passengers onto and upon exiting the van.

Must be a good listener and prepared to offer prayer or encouragement as needed.

Must be comfortable with everyone in the ministry having their phone number to schedule rides as needed
-
Must be educated concerning how to operate child safety seats and adult seatbelt safety restraint systems.

Must monitor van credentials and ensure that the registration and insurance are updated at all times.

Must keep the van washed, cleaned weekly.

Must take care of all required maintenance or repairs as need. (Tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes etc.)
Unless previously excused by Pastor Sims, each participant in this ministry is expected to attend and serve during all regularly scheduled services and any major event or special occasion such as weddings, conferences, funerals, retreats, concerts, special meetings etc.
